15th December 11: Accessibility issues

For years now, we've been lobbying to get the Society building made accessible, and our information from the University is that it is finally going to be considered for work in 2012! In the meantime we have been asked to hold our events elsewhere, and so starting in 2012 you will have to check our mailouts and the events listing on this site closely to see where we will be...

25th September 11: Burlington Pub Rally 2011

Every year, members who come on our pub rally ask us how on earth to find all the pubs again by the light of day! Check out our maps page for a google map of the master list of all the official pubs on the rally...

16th November 10: Events listings fixed on Society Website, but boy do we need help

Sorry folks -- our webmaster's been running half our events, and there are only so many hours in the day! For interested parties, the issue related to a bug in a third party module, the iCal Javascript Parser, and the society has not only fixed it, but also proudly donated a patch to the maintainers! See how community minded we are?

Anyhow, now that bug is fixed, we are also proud to announce that you can point your calendaring system (google, outlook, iCal, your mobile — whatever you're using) at our web calendar and have all our events appear by magic in amongst your own appointments. Whether you download a copy and import it, or have your system use it direct from our server, is up to you!

Finally, as you may have gathered, we're crying out for volunteers right now. Why not take a look at the listing on the left and see if you think you could help us out?

8th December 09: £500 in the budget for Wednesday Afternoons

Unfortunately our Wednesday afternoon co-ordinator has had to step down, so we're putting the budget up for grabs. If you or your friends would like to come along and keep something happening on Wednesdays, there's £500 in the kitty just waiting to be spent. If it doesn't get used by Easter, it'll be reallocated, so come forward!
